Hirimaadhoo Council The island office: notices, services, and the people you can ask

Letters and copies from the island register

Address letters, household letters and certified copies from the records the council keeps. Same day where the file is here.

The council keeps the island's own register of households and residents, and most of the letters people need are drawn from it.

What the desk issues: a letter confirming your address, a letter confirming who lives in a household, a certified copy of an entry in the council's own register, and a letter of introduction for an application somewhere else.

Bring your identity document. If the letter is for somebody else, bring a signed note from them as well, and we will keep it with the request. A letter drawn from a file that is already here is usually done the same day. Anything that needs a record from another office takes as long as that office takes, and we will tell you which one it is.

Twenty rufiyaa for a letter, thirty for a certified copy. Nothing at all for a letter a school or the hospital has asked for.
