A ward team of nine on a rotating night shift, with a half hour break that does not move and a gate where a rider can stand for two minutes.
The list is the same most weeks with two or three changes, sent to us in a message by whoever is organising it. It goes into the half past midnight hour, packed as nine boxes with names written on them, and it is handed over at the gate rather than carried through a building.
The part they value is not the food. It is that one person transfers once and nobody is counting out change in a corridor at half past twelve.
It has run for about fourteen months. On the two nights we could not do it, we told them at nine in the evening rather than at midnight, which is the only version of that message that is any use.
