Forty chairs in the big room on Friday afternoon and no charge at all. A parent sits with their child rather than dropping them off, which is the whole character of the hour.
Reading aloud together, a passage taken slowly with the teacher explaining where readers tend to slip, and twenty minutes at the end for children who want to read a few lines in front of the room. Nobody is made to and about half never do.
This is also where children under seven come, since the afternoon classes start at seven. Reserve a place so we know how many chairs to put out, and turn up whether or not you ever enrol in anything else.
