Curtains for a nine flat building

Fifty two windows measured after the flooring went down, made in the shop and hung over four days.

Nine flats, fifty two windows, and a landlord who wanted one specification for the whole building so that a damaged curtain could be replaced from stock two years later.

We refused to measure from the drawings, which delayed the order by three weeks and was the right decision. The flooring was not down, and the finished floor level in three of the flats ended up eleven millimetres higher than the drawing. Measured from the plan, those twenty seven curtains would have hung short.

One cloth in two colours, twice the track width in fullness, blackout lining on every west facing window and sheers on the rest. Made in the shop over three weeks with two tailors on it, then hung over four days with the tracks fitted by us.

The landlord holds eight metres of the same cloth in a cupboard and we hold the specification on file. Two curtains have been replaced since, both in a day.
