Book the hour, and the instructor who will be in the car

Between eight and twenty five, and nobody can narrow that down before meeting you. Age, whether you already ride a cycle and how often you can get out all move it more than anything we do.

What we will not do is sell you a package of twelve and call it the path to a licence. You book hour by hour, or in blocks of five that never expire, and your record tells you where you are.

Yes, and we would rather you did. The form asks which instructor and shows only the hours that person is free.

An instructor who has had you five times reads your record before you arrive. A school that sends whoever is free spends the first ten minutes of every hour catching up.

Yes. Rifa teaches women only and she is on the booking form with her own hours, so you book her directly rather than asking at the office.

Somebody from your family may also sit in the back of any lesson with any instructor, at no charge. Mention it on the booking form so the instructor knows beforehand.

Because between seven and nine the roads in Phase One are as empty as they get, and a first time rider needs empty roads far more than a convenient hour.

Helmet provided and not optional. Wear shoes that cover your feet and clothes that cover your arms and legs. A fall at fifteen kilometres an hour takes skin off.

Pick a class from the list on the booking page. Those are real dates with real seats, and you are reserving a place on an evening that already exists rather than asking for a time.

Eighteen seats on an evening class and twelve on the Saturday morning one. They do go. The seat is paid at the door and the classroom has no card machine.

You may come again free within three months to sit through it a second time before the paper. About a third of people do, and they tend to be the ones who pass the paper first time.
