Collected this morning, delivered this afternoon
Parcels across Malé and Hulhumalé for online shops, offices and anybody who needs something moved today. Every delivery ends with a name and a photograph, and every account gets one invoice a month.
Four things that decide whether a parcel arrives
We need a number that answers
Malé addresses are house names, not numbers. A parcel with a working telephone number arrives; one without it comes back to us.
A photograph at the door
Every delivery is recorded with the time, the name of whoever took it and a photograph. Sent to you, not kept in a drawer.
Honest cutoffs
Two o'clock for same day Hulhumalé, four for Malé. We would rather refuse a parcel than promise a slot the bridge will not allow.
Cash collected and settled next day
We collect on delivery and the money is in your account the next working day, with a statement listing every parcel.
Six kinds of delivery
From a single envelope across town to a shop's whole day of orders, priced per drop rather than by weight.
Same day delivery in Malé
35 rufiyaa a parcel, collected and delivered within about three hours, cutoff at four o'clock.
Malé to Hulhumalé and back
60 rufiyaa across the bridge, with a two o'clock cutoff for the same day.
Deliveries for online shops
A fixed collection time every day, cash collected on delivery, and one invoice a month.
Documents and signature deliveries
50 rufiyaa with a signature on paper rather than a photograph, for anything legal.
Bulk and pickup runs
Anything too big for a bike, at 90 rufiyaa a drop, twice a day in each direction.
Account arrangements
Fixed collection time, per drop pricing from 28 rufiyaa, and one invoice at the end of the month.
Last year
How this works in practice
An online shop doing forty parcels a day, a pharmacy running prescriptions, and a law office that needs a signature rather than a photograph.
An online shop doing forty parcels a day
A fixed half past eleven collection, two bridge crossings, and cash settled every next morning.
Prescriptions for a pharmacy
Cold bags swapped at every collection, direct runs rather than grouped, and a hard rule about what we will not carry.
Dockets for a law office
Signed paper dockets returned the same evening, and a rider who waits for the named person.
What our customers say
They refused my parcels without a telephone number for three weeks and I was furious. My first attempt rate went from eighty nine per cent to over ninety eight, so I have stopped complaining.
The bags are swapped at every collection and the runs are direct rather than grouped. They also told us plainly which items they would not carry, which no other service had done.
Signed paper dockets back the same evening, with the identity card number on them, and a rider who will wait rather than leaving a notice with a receptionist. That is the whole reason we pay more.
What people ask before they book
What do you charge?
35 rufiyaa a parcel in Malé, 60 across the bridge, 35 within Hulhumalé, 75 to Villingili and 90 to the airport. Documents needing a signature are 50, cold bag deliveries 45, and anything on the pickup 90.
An urgent single run, where a rider goes straight there with nothing else on the bike, is 90 in Malé and takes about forty minutes. Accounts over two hundred parcels a month pay from 28 a drop.
Why do you insist on a telephone number?
Because Malé addresses are house names rather than numbers, buildings get renamed, and a good many people do not know their own building's name. A parcel with an address alone has roughly a four in five chance of being found quickly. With a number that answers it is essentially certain.
We ring the receiver rather than searching for a building, and it is why our first attempt rate is over ninety seven per cent.
What is the cutoff for same day?
Four o'clock for Malé and two o'clock for Hulhumalé. Hulhumalé parcels go on two crossings a day, at about eleven and about half past two.
That cutoff is real. The bridge run takes twenty two minutes at ten in the morning and fifty five at half past five, so a rider leaving at four with six parcels delivers perhaps three of them. We would rather refuse the parcel than promise the evening.
Tell us how many parcels a day
Under ten a week and the standard rates are best. Over two hundred a month and an account is cheaper, with a monthly invoice and a fixed collection time.
