What the ferry means for a sixteen week programme, said honestly.
We follow the published times. The month's timetable is on the wall in the hall.
I am on a boat by five most mornings. The nine o'clock group is the only reason I am in a programme at all.
They moved the ladies sessions to mornings and my attendance went from half the term to all of it. Nobody asked me to explain why, they had already worked it out.
The free check told me I was not ready for the evening programme and what to do for four months instead. They could have taken seven hundred rufiyaa off me that afternoon.
Adults, and nobody under sixteen. The evening programme is for people who work during the day, and the weekday programme is for ladies and runs while the children are at school.
We are not a school and we are not a boarding school. If you are looking for classes for a child, the island has places that teach children properly and the office will tell you where rather than take your enrolment.
Yes, throughout the weekday programme, which is taught by women and has no men in the building during those hours apart from the caretaker.
The half hour recitation sessions for women are with Ustadha Sheereen or Ustadha Hudha, booked against whichever of them you choose. Say on the form that you would like a female teacher for the free check as well and the office will arrange it.
To the ladies mornings, yes. There is a mat at the back and nobody has ever complained about a child in the room.
What we do not have is anybody to look after them. A child who needs watching needs their mother to be watching, and a mother who spends the morning in the corridor has not really attended the session, which is worth thinking about honestly before the intake starts.
Attendance is taken every session and it is read rather than filed. Four missed sessions and your teacher will speak to you. Eight and you are moved to the next intake instead.
That is not a punishment. Sixteen people moving at one pace cannot carry somebody eight sessions behind, and pretending otherwise fails the other fifteen. Somebody posted away partway through keeps their place for the next intake at no further charge, arranged with the office.
Nothing on this website. You send the request, the office rings within a day, and the place is held until the first session of the intake. Then the fee goes by bank transfer or in cash at the office on a weekday morning.
The fee may be paid in three parts across the sixteen weeks. Ask when you enrol rather than after a payment is late, because the arrangement is easy to make and awkward to make retrospectively.
By transfer to the account on the donations page, then a message to the office with the reference. The office sends back a receipt with its own reference. Nothing is collected on this website and there is no card payment here.
Donations go to the building fund, which at present is the roof over the hall and the fans in it, and they are kept separate from fees in the books. Nobody from the academy will ever ask you for a donation in a message you did not start. If somebody does, it is not us.
You read, a teacher listens, and you are told which programme fits or that neither does yet. There is nothing to pay and no obligation either way.
